Evening Janitorial strives to make our common environmental concerns in the workplace a priority. We work hard to be an environmentally conscious, eco-friendly, green cleaning janitorial service. By definition, “GREEN” can encompass, among other things, less waste and more recycling, taking care of the air and water with less pollution, and conserving resources.
Evening Janitorial can assist in helping your property comply and maintain its LEED certification. LEED, which means Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a point system awarded to buildings that are built and/or operated by meeting certain environmental qualities.

Several of our current clients have recently relocated to new buildings and have sought and received LEED certifications. Evening Janitorial played a key role in the success of these LEED certification processes, ensuring points were scored in the janitorial categories.
We continue to partner with these clients to maintain LEED compliance, utilizing proper cleaning chemical and equipment choices, along with their usage, storage and log maintenance requirements.
There are many ways Evening Janitorial contributes to lessen our environmental impact; our clients are appreciative of these following efforts:
CHEMICALS AND CLEANING SOLUTIONS
As much as possible, Evening Janitorial utilizes less harsh bio-degradable solutions while cleaning client facilities. Restroom sanitizers are either “Simple Green” or citrus based, with less stress on the local aquifer and drainage systems. Perhaps more importantly in the workplace, they are pleasantly scented and cause fewer allergic reactions.
VAC PACKS
These are ergonomically less stressful for the user than traditional uprights. Vac packs weigh less, offer ease of hand/body motions, and emit lower decibels. For the workplace environment, the vac pack’s triple filter feature captures most dust particles inside the unit itself rather than broadcasting them out into the air system. Additionally, the longer wands clean better in corners, edges, and underneath desks.
WET MOPS
Evening Janitorial has moved to the micro fiber product in our cleaning, as opposed to standard white string cotton mops. The strings catch everywhere, and are usually littered all over the floor. The old mops smell, are musty, and leave cotton dust particles dispersed in the air. The string mops have a reputation of pushing dirty water around from place to place. Micro fiber mop heads absorb dirt, leave no cotton residue, and can be laundered and hung to dry over 200 times.
RAGS
Micro fiber rags have all the cleaning benefits of the above mops. Traditional feather dusters display dust off a surface and into the air. Nothing is captured and leads to difficulty with allergies and surfaces are re-contaminated a short time later with settled dust.
RECYCLING
If your workplace provides separate individual and dumpster receptacles for trash, compost, paper/glass/plastic and cardboard, then Evening Janitorial teams will participate in monitoring compliance and progress. We will utilize the correct outside dumpsters respectively. Our team will flatten cardboard boxes to increase capacity and make for fewer and less costly pickups. If you have shredders, we will empty them.
(Evening Janitorial is prepared to sign a privacy policy for sensitive documents you may have in the building). Finally, we have a trash and recycle/shredding partner we can recommend for an audit of your waste practices.
PAPER/DISPOSABLE PRODUCTS
(Toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and liners)
Recently, the environmentally friendly options for these products have grown tremendously. Paper towels and toilet paper made from 100% recycled paper have become more and more popular, softer to the touch, and the cost differential is negligible, if any, at this point from standard paper choices. Foam hand soap options are popular, as many hygienic concerns are lessened with this dispensing method.
Evening Janitorial has a partner who will conduct a “Disposables Audit”, offering green choices and presenting price alternatives.
Often, Evening Janitorial clients opt for us to manage their supply closet, place orders by a customized fax form. Our partner will bill you directly wholesale with no mark up.

WALK OFF MATS
Evening Janitorial recommends these entry way systems to help in keeping your building cleaner. Entrance cleanliness, in theory, allows for less dirt to carry via shoes throughout the site. There is also a positive safety factor, with fewer chances of slips and falls on wet flooring if there are mats for wiping shoes. Our team will be more efficient, and your environment will be less contaminated with outdoor particles.
Evening Janitorial has two partners we recommend, one for the sale and one for the rental of these entry mat systems.
WATER COOLERS
Many firms have encouraged their employees not to use plastic water bottles any more by installing coolers in the workplace because the plastic stays in the landfills forever. If our clients switch to coolers, Evening Janitorial will keep the exterior clean, clean out the water trap regularly, and even refill the bottles when empty with your stored supply of water.
YOUR ELECTRICITY
In a larger site, or in a multi-level building, Evening Janitorial teams make every effort to work in a close-knit group, section by section. Once finished, we will shut that space down, turn off all lights, lock internal doors, and proceed on to the next section. This allows for energy conservation, and can help reduce your power bill considerably, rather than have the whole building lit up all night long while we are on site.
Additionally, if we witness lights on, copy machines left on, or coffee makers left on, our teams have been trained to turn off switches if this is the client’s wish. We NEVER use our clients’ computers, radios, or televisions.
SAFETY
Evening Janitorial teams never arrive at your site alone. We work together in case someone is hurt on the job, or encounters other trouble; there is a “buddy” system in place. All cleaners carry cell phones, and we’ll also ask for yours in case of emergency.
